A NEW weight loss clinic is offering free health checks for Widnes residents until the end of January.

Catherine Halsall opened the clinic in Optimum Business Park, Ditton, on January 12 after helping people in Widnes lose over 200 stone following her own life-changing weight loss.

She lost five stone in six months after needing to change her lifestyle due to fertility issues and tried the 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan which re-educates people on portion size and carbohydrate control.

Catherine says her passion for helping others change their lives has resulted in her winning the prestigious Flying Start award at the company's annual convention.

She said: "Due to the phenomenal start in my business it was a natural progression to open my first weight loss clinic so I can help even more people.

"With the recent evidence of the Droplet Medical study last year that identified that obese patients who followed an 800 calorie a day diet of formula soups and shakes under medical supervision lost 10% of their body weight, and half of the patients with type two diabetes on the diet were in remission within a year, I knew it was only going to get busier in 2019.

"I needed a private and comfortable clinic that I could help even more people in."

The clinic was officially opened by Sheila Henshall who is the current Family Champion Award winning slimmer with the 1:1 Diet who has successfully lost two stone on the plan.

The centre is currently doing free health checks for all Wides residents until the end of the month.
