Inspirational mum is helping others run their own businesses

Joanne Jones, 42, from Lymm, is a co-author of Mumpreneur on Fire 4 which is the last book in a best-selling series put together by the Mums in Business Association.

The association was created in June 2017 by sisters Estelle Keeber and Leona Burton who believed there was a lack of online support for mums who wanted to start their own businesses.

Joanne, mum to Alana, 10, Emily, 16, Alex, 13, and Tilly, four, sent her story to the association who chose her to be featured in the latest edition of their book to inspire others.

Joanne said: "It tells the stories of 25 mums who have overcome adversity and become better mums and started their businesses.

"My story is about being a mum of four and having followed the predictable path that was expected of me – school, university, and job – but always having an entrepreneurial spirit.

"This made me feel like a square peg in a round hole and never quite content.

"Following the birth of my fourth baby, I had severe postnatal depression and anxiety which culminated in panic attacks and agoraphobia.

"I was lucky to be supported well by psychological services and this meant that I could stop being in permanent fight or flight, and build my self confidence."

After hard work and determination, Joanne now owns two businesses.

The first is Bell Tent Party Events which provides outdoor tents for parties or individual indoor tents with their own mattress, pillow and blanket for sleepovers.

Joanne's second business is as an online early years development coach to help parents with children who have speech, language and communication difficulties.

Joanne explained: "I have two amazing businesses that I love doing, give me the time I want with my family and I have met some incredible people along the way.

"I now look forward to the future and am no longer held back by the past."

Mumpreneur on Fire 4 was available to pre-order from Saturday and climbed to the number one spot on Amazon.
