A BARBER has started a new project travelling around Runcorn offering free haircuts to the homeless.
Gary Swann, 36, owns Odin's Mobile Barbers and a spur of the moment decision lead to him starting Homeless Haircuts to boost morale.
Gary gives free haircuts to people living on the streets in Runcorn and surrounding areas and also attends the Whitechapel Centre in Langsdale Street in Liverpool every five weeks.
He said: "I'm now doing about 60 haircuts every five weeks.
"You wouldn't believe the change in people afterwards- the smiles on their faces and the change in their confidence."
Gary also donates basic items such as essential clothes and toiletries to the Whitechapel Centre.
He said: "I put requests out on Facebook and people donate and the response has been amazing.
"The plan now is to go to St Helens, Warrington and Widnes because there are centres like the Whitechapel Centre dotted around there too which I didn't realise."
