POLICE have released CCTV footage showing an alleged gunman cycling home through the streets of Warrington after a botched attempt to kill a ‘mob fixer’.

Mark Fellows, from Orford, is currently on trial at Liverpool Crown Court charged with murdering ‘underworld Mr Big’ Paul Massey and John Kinsella – a gangland enforcer.

The 38-year-old, of Sandy Lane West, is alleged to have gunned down the latter near to junction seven of the M62 in May last year.

Mr Kinsella, 53, was walking his dogs with his pregnant partner Wendy Owen near to their home in Rainhill when he was killed by a man riding a mountain bike.

This assassin – who was wearing a hi-vis vest – also shot at Ms Owen during the incident, shortly before 7am on Saturday, May 5.

Fellows, known as the ‘Iceman’, is also alleged to have murdered 55-year-old Mr Massey with a submachine gun outside his home in Salford nearly three years earlier – at 7.30pm on Sunday, July 26 2015.

Merseyside Police have now released footage showing a cyclist, believed to be Fellows, riding along Winwick Road after an alleged botched attempt to kill Mr Kinsella on Sunday, April 29 2018.

The hit was abandoned when the gunman arrived too late to the scene of the murder victim’s eventual death, the prosecution says.

Footage shows a man on a bike riding past the former Lookers car dealership and KFC at Junction Nine Retail Park.

Fellows denies two counts of murder and one of attempted murder.

Thirty-six-year-old Steven Boyle, of Heywood, is also on trial accused of two counts of murder and one of attempted murder – having allegedly acted as a ‘spotter’ for the killings.

Trial judge Mr Justice William Davis on Tuesday finished summing up the evidence heard over the last seven weeks of the trial by the jury of eight men and four women.

He told them they will be sent out to consider their verdicts tomorrow, Wednesday morning.
