A POPULAR town centre pub has permanently shut its doors.
Porters Ale House, on Buttermarket Street, opened for the final time on Saturday night and is now closed.
The pub was a popular venue for live music, regularly hosting rock acts and DJs on weekends.
Dozens of regulars took to social media over the weekend to express their sadness at Porters’ closure.
Only last year, the pub reopened under new management.

Porters enjoyed a refurbishment in May 2018, having had its licence temporarily revoked two months previously.
The pub remained shut for around a month after three men and one woman were arrested on suspicion of intent to supply class A drugs in the venue when it was raided by police in May last year.
