A MAN was stabbed in the head in an early-morning attack in Runcorn.
A 19-year-old victim was attacked at the junction of Spur Road and Latham Avenue at 1.30am yesterday, Thursday, after a night out.
He was stabbed from behind and fell to the floor where he was kicked and stamped on and left unconscious.
The man was also stabbed in the head during the attack.
He was treated in hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.
Detective constable Nathaniel Walkowiak said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have been in that area at the time to get in touch.
"There wouldn’t have been many people in the streets at that time and any information people may be able to provide could help us solve this unprovoked attack.
"If you have any information then please contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number IML 273685."
