BURGLARS targeted a convenience store in Burtonwood last night.
Police were called to the Co-op on Chapel Lane shortly after 11.30pm yesterday, Tuesday.
Officers attended the scene and discovered that the store’s front door had been forced open, with a quantity of cigarettes stolen.
It is believed that three people broke into the shop, with police enquiries ongoing.
Detective sergeant Tom Hall said: "Burglary is a serious crime, and we are determined to catch the three people responsible and make them face the consequences of their actions.
"As part of our investigation, we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the offenders breaking into or fleeing the shop or witnessed anything suspicious in the area.
"We also want to hear from anyone who believes they may know who the offenders are, or have CCTV or dashcam footage of them or a vehicle they may have used to get to and then flee the scene."
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML 272744, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
