A NEW apartment block in Warrington town centre will boast a rooftop garden in what is believed to be a first for the town.

Plans for the six-storey building, which will feature 39 one and two-bedroom rental properties, have been approved.

The multi-million pound investment at the site of the former Lloyds Bank, on Town Hill, received planning approval for 24 apartments with basement parking earlier this year.

However, the new plans will deliver extra housing units.

Property developer Adam Jude, from James Peacock Property, said the ambitious rooftop garden will be a first for the borough.

He added: “We are delighted to have received planning permission for 39 apartments at Town Hill.

“The rooftop garden will be a wonderful addition to the town, encouraging nature to the area and providing an outdoor community space not seen in any previous Warrington development.”

The scheme is the latest development for James Peacock Property, which was behind the town centre Kings Court development.
