A MAN from Runcorn has caused serious facial injuries to a police officer.
Daniel Ward, of Eagles Way, Runcorn has been charged with wounding with intent, resisting arrest and using threatening words and behaviour.
The 26-year-old injured a police officer during an incident on Bridge Street in Runcorn Old Town at about 4.15pm on Friday.
The police officer was taken to hospital and has since been discharged after receiving treatment.
Ward has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 17.
A 34-year-old woman was also arrested at the scene.
Hannah McHale, of Norton Hill, Runcorn, has since been charged with attempting to cause criminal damage and using threatening behaviour.
She has been released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 3.
