POLICE are searching for suspects after a Widnes sports club was burgled and damaged in a break-in last week.

On Monday, December 3, between 12am and 8.15am suspects forced entry to Parklands Club in Parklands, Cronton.

Cash was stolen and considerable damage was caused inside the premises, including fruit machines, internal doors and electrical equipment.

Forensics and CCTV evidence along with witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Detective constable, Roy Waller, said: "As the pictures show, the devastation caused to this local business will be massive.

"Not only have they lost money, but the criminal damage will incur further inconvenience, distress and repair costs.

"Burglars have no regard for the many hard-working people in our communities, so I would urge anyone who saw or heard anything, or anyone behaving suspiciously close to the location in recent weeks to come forward.

"Likewise, if you have seen any unfamiliar vehicles parked in the vicinity, or have recorded anything you think is untoward on home CCTV, or dashcam, let us know.

"I want to reassure our local businesses that we will act on all information provided to bring those responsible to justice."
