COMEDIAN, TV presenter and Corrie actor Stephen Bailey will join a stellar line-up for Heart of Glass’ Royal Wrap Party tomorrow to mark the end of St Helens 150th year.

The free ticketed party at the Citadel on Thursday, December 13 will be hosted by Eggs Collective, Heart of Glass’ ‘Party Political Artists in Residence’, with Bailey's entertaining guests with his open and friendly brand of gossipy humour.

The night will also feature performances from St Helens’ own Kitty O’Shea and a drum troupe from OLC Productions.

There will be competitions, crown making with Manchester’s Mighty Heart, an interactive stall with visual artist Amy Pennington and a disco from DJ MissBaxter2U.

The event will mark the end of the St Helens 150th anniversary of becoming a municipal borough and its year as the region’s Borough of Culture.

It will also mark 100 years since the first women were granted the right to vote and 70 years of St Helens partnership with Stuttgart and 100 years since the end of WWI.

Eggs Collective said: “We've had such a fantastic year in St Helens as Party Political Artists in Residence. We've met brilliant, creative people in our high street pop up shop, danced through the streets to celebrate the Unsung Heroes of the borough in the St Helens Day Citizens’ Parade.

"The Royal Wrap Party feels like the perfect way to end the year: a fabulous party packed with comedy, music and prizes, with a generous dash of glitter thrown in for good measure. So strap on your dancing shoes, St Helens - we'll see you there.”

Angy Williams, lead producer, added: "We’re inviting all the groups, individuals and artists who've made this year so special to join us at the Royal Wrap Party.

"It's a chance for everyone to let their hair down and celebrate an incredible year of culture made with communities and artists working together, as well as a chance to plot exciting new projects for 2019 and beyond.”

Doors will open at 7.30pm, the bar will be open and guests can mingle at The Citadel before the show begins.
