A PRIMARY school in Widnes has been named School of the Year by an education charity.
St Michael’s Catholic primary school, in St Michael’s Road, have been awarded the title by Crosby Hall Educational Trust (CHET) which offers children a taste of country life with residentials and visits.
St Michael’s have been visiting CHET with year four pupils for many years and has made a lasting impression.
Graham Still-Blundell, who presented the award on behalf of CHET, said that St Michael’s had been chosen as School of the Year for their enthusiasm in participation, manners and ‘have-a-go’ attitude.
Paul Loughran, head teacher, said: “I am extremely proud of all of the pupils at St Michael’s and how they live out the school values in their daily life.
“To see that recognised by CHET is a testament to our pupils and staff.”
