A WALKER is strapping his boots on again to raise funds for children who have been bereaved.

Steve Jones, from Runcorn, is talking on a 70-mile walk from the Wirral to the Peak District in aid of Widnes charity Child Bereavement UK.

He will take on the North Cheshire Way next year for Ashley House-based Child Bereavement UK, who his wife Lynn works for and which will celebrate its 25th birthday in 2019.

An experienced walker, Steve has previous raised £5,000 for the charity by taking on treks including the Cumbria Way and Hadrian’s Wall.

Steve is already in training for the challenge, hiking eight miles every weekend.

He said: "I’m really looking forward to my next walk.

"My wife Lynn works at Child Bereavement UK’s office in Widnes, so I know the funds I raise will help the charity support bereaved families to rebuild their lives.

"For me, that’s really rewarding."
