IT put a smile on many faces in Widnes last year and now it's back.

The most festive house in Halton turned on their Christmas lights at the weekend and quite a crowd came out to see it.

Visitors to the residential light show were greeted with cups of mulled wine as well as drinks for the children, sausage rolls, hot dogs and cakes to mark this year's big switch-on.

Last year hundreds of people headed to Christmas fanatics Alyn Bear and Ken Crowe's home on Churchfields in Farnworth.

This year their 2018 light display will be raising money for the Dogs Trust.

The bungalow's colourful light show is synchronised to music including Mary’s Boy Child, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Jingle Bells, Techno Mix, Music Box Dancer and Winter Wonderland.

A three minute track can take 30 hours for kind-hearted technical wizard Alyn to put it all together with suppliers from America and Japan providing the equipment needed.

Alyn has been decorating the outside of his home for nine years and only decided to venture into synchronisation after spotting an American display on YouTube.

He says he does it to 'spread a little bit of happiness'.

The daily shows start at 5pm with a musical sequence starting on the hour and before switch-off at 10pm.
