THERE are long delays after an accident on the M56 this lunchtime.
Two lanes have been closed and there is currently seven miles of queueing traffic to clear due to an accident on M56 Eastbound from J14 A5117 (Hapsford) to J12 A557 (Runcorn).
Travel time is around an hour and 20 minutes.
Traffic was stopped between 1.20 and 1.35pm while emergency services headed to the scene.
There is no junction 13.
All lanes re-opened just before 3pm.
On the #M56 westbound, J14 - J12, our Traffic Officers have worked hard at the scene of the collision to move the vehicles onto the Hard Shoulder. Closed lanes have now re-opened. But it'll take time for approximately 7 miles of very slow traffic to begin easing. @NWmwaypolice pic.twitter.com/4bApsIam2G
