A CHRISTMAS teepee is going to bring a cosy, festive feel to the Old Fish Market when it opens this Saturday at noon.

The specially-constructed teepee, festooned with fairy lights, will become the hub of the Golden Square's seasons greetings where you can enjoy the likes of mulled wine and other yuletide favourites until January 5.

It replaces the shopping centre's alpine style 'Christmas village' which previously ran for a number of years.

From Sunday to Wednesday the teepee will be open between 12pm and 8pm and then there is more of a party atmosphere from Thursday to Sunday when the teepee will stay open until late.

There will also be live music and DJs from 5pm every Friday starting on November 23.

Ian Cox, director of Golden Square, said: “We’re very much in the Christmas spirit at Golden Square and the opening of our Christmas Teepee will really add to the festive feeling across the centre and the wider Warrington area.

“The teepee is going to be a great place to spend time with friends and family and the perfect spot for a post-work drink with colleagues. We had a tremendous response to our Christmas light switch on last Friday and we can’t wait to continue with the seasonal celebrations starting this Saturday.”
