RIVERSIDE College students were honoured during a graduation ceremony at St Paul’s Church in Widnes.
Graduates from the college’s higher education courses were celebrated during a services on Thursday, October 18.
Students were presented their certificates by principal Mary Murphy and the Deputy Mayor of Halton Cllr Margaret Horabin.
Special congratulations went to Joanne Squire, who was awarded Staffordshire University Higher Education Student of the Year, and Robert Peel, who was named Higher Education Student of the Year for Pearson Programmes.
Education foundation degree student Joanne ‘demonstrated strong commitment and dedication throughout her studies’.
She is now progressing to study for a bachelor’s degree in education at Riverside College.
Meanwhile, HND computing student Robert ‘displayed great development throughout his studies’ and is now reading multimedia computing at Liverpool John Moores University.
Helen London, head of teacher development and higher education at Riverside College, said: “It was an honour to celebrate the achievement of our higher education students at this wonderful event.
“I am very proud of all of our students graduating this year – they really deserve it after working very hard throughout their studies to achieve their qualifications.
“There are so many reasons to choose Riverside College for higher education courses, and it is wonderful to see so many students choosing to stay local to obtain their HND, HNC, foundation degree and full honours degrees with us.”
