A GROUP of mums who had previously struggled with body confidence have produced a naked calendar in aid of a 26-year-old woman fighting cancer.

Runcorn’s Push and Tone, run by Karen Mcintyre, have dared to bare to raise money for Kirsty Mcdonald, who earlier this year was diagnosed with cervical cancer for third time in 18 months.

Karen said: “It was very nerve-wracking.

A lot of them were thinking about cancelling and we were persuading them round.

“But they all turned up in the end and they all loved it.”

The 39-year-old came up with the idea after hearing about Kirsty's diagnosis.

She said: “We heard about Kirsty because she works with my sister in Runcorn.

“She’s a therapy assistant based in Halton and this is her third diagnosis of cervical cancer, so we decided we wanted to do something to help raise a bit of money.”

On the day of the photoshoot a few businesses donated their time and skills.

Hairdresser Rebecca Patterson volunteered for the day and make-up artists from Hair by Emma also helped.

Heather Elizabeth, whose photography studio is in Runcorn, was on hand to capture the photos.

The fitness class, which was set up five years ago, runs every day in Runcorn in small groups of around 12 ladies.

The calendars cost £8 and on sale now.
