A SEARCH is under way for a Runcorn man who has been missing since Monday.

Mark Miles, 49, was reported missing from his home in the Castlefields area.

Police say CCTV footage shows that he got on the 110 Arriva bus in Castlefields at 8.18am that day.

He stayed on the bus until it reached Warrington town centre and then bought a return train ticket to Blackpool North at Warrington Bank Quay Station.

The next train to Blackpool North required a change at Preston.

Mark boarded an Edinburgh-bound train at the station in Warrington at 9.38am.

That train stopped at Preston, where Mark could have got on a train to Blackpool North that was due to arrive in the town at 10.34am.

Officers are trying to ascertain if Mark travelled all the way to Blackpool North or got off a train elsewhere.

Officers have released a CCTV image, below, of Mark on the bus.

Runcorn and Widnes World:

They are concerned for his welfare and are appealing for anyone who has seen or spoken to him this week or has information regarding his whereabouts to get in touch.

Cheshire Police Inspector Darryl Jones said: “Extensive enquiries to locate Mark are ongoing and we and his family are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing – it has been more than four days since he was last seen.

“We know that he bought a return train ticket to Blackpool North on the day that he went missing and that he got on a train at Warrington Bank Quay Station but do not know at this stage if he travelled to Blackpool and is still there or if he is elsewhere.

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have information regarding his whereabouts or anything else that may help us to trace him and reunite him with his family.”

Mark is described as white, around 5 ft 8 ins tall with a medium build. He has short grey hair and brown eyes.

On the day that he went missing he was wearing a black coat with a blue top underneath it, black trousers and black shoes.

Anyone with information that may help officers find Mark, no matter how small, should call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML 225879.
