TWO Halton residents have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the health and social sectors with nominations at the 2019 Great British Care Awards.

Barbara Meeks and Anthony Warburton from Delivered Health Solutions, leading suppliers of infection control and prevention services, are both shortlisted for top honours at the prestigious north west event.

The Great British Care Awards pay tribute to individuals and organisations who deliver excellent services and inspirational care.

Barbara, from Widnes, is managing director of Delivered Health Solutions and has been featured in the 'dignity in care' category.

This nomination celebrates her decades working at the forefront of the care sector, developing approaches that promote clean, safe and welcoming care home environments.

Barbara formed Delivered Health Solutions in 2012, growing it to become a nationally respected brand within the care sector. With her organisation providing services to more than 4000 care homes nationally, improving the lives of more than 250,000 people every year, she has played a significant role in promoting dignity in care.

Also shortlisted is Runcorn man, Anthony Warburton, who works as a specialist deep cleaning technician at Delivered Health Solutions. Featured in the 'ancillary worker' category, Anthony has been recognised for the exceptional impact he has made in promoting the highest standards of environment in care homes across the region.

Nominated for his exceptional customer service, commitment to supporting care home staff and in-depth understanding of best practice, Anthony has been deservedly recognised as one of the region’s most dedicated ancillary care workers.

Barbara Meeks, Managing Director of Delivered Health Solutions, said: “At Delivered Health Solutions we have an absolute focus on improving the lives of people who access care, by offering the highest standard of cleaning and training and developing products that can improve care services.

"Every single member of our team is our focussed on enabling people who live in care homes to lead great lives and assisting the dedicated staff that deliver these services.

"It is unusual for an organisation that doesn’t directly provide care to be featured at events of this nature, so it is very pleasing that we have been recognised. I am proud that my personal commitment to promoting dignity in care has been recognised and to see the hard-work of our frontline team celebrated with Anthony’s nomination.”

Anthony Warburton, specialist deep cleaning technician at Delivered Health Solutions, said: “It was a real shock to find out that I had been nominated for such a prestigious honour. I love being part of a company that makes a difference every day and to have the chance to help care homes across the region.

"To know that my work is not only valued by my own colleagues and the staff at the services we work with, but also respected by lead figures in the national care sector too is something I feel very proud about.”

The Great British Care Awards North West take place on Saturday, November 24.
