DARESBURY Sci-Tech received a visit from Labour leaders to showcase their new technology being used to assist staff in advanced fields of work.
Mike Amesbury, the Weaver Vale MP in Runcorn, joined Rebecaa Long-Bailey, shadow secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy and Chi Onwurah, shadow minister for industrial strategy, for a tour of the science campus.
They were shown an artificial intelligence chat-bot being developed for a children’s hospital which allowed young patients to interact and ask questions.
The campus is also developing a 3D engineering studio, where staff could use virtual headsets and tools to perform a variety of tasks including seeing the inside of a diseased heart and changing wheels on high-performance cars.
Mike, whose constituency covers Daresbury, said: “Daresbury is a jewel in the crown for British science and technology and is leading the way in some of our most advanced fields.
“This visit shows just how seriously Labour takes the high-tech industries.”
