A GROUP of caravanners – who are aged between 30 and 70 – have stripped off for a naked calendar to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

Victoria Blackburn, from Widnes, is among the group who dared to bare to raise funds for the cause, which is close to her heart.

The 45-year-old, who works at Aldi in Widnes, said: “I lost my mum to breast cancer in 2007 and my sister-in-law has had treatment recently for the disease.

“I also found a lump in January this year but, thankfully for, me my lump was nothing to worry about.

“Losing my mum has left a massive void in my heart. So, with that in mind, I felt I had to do this in memory of her and anybody else who is going through treatment.”

The group of friends who all holiday at Flintshire’s Tree Tops Caravan Park in north Wales have staged the photographs over the past few months.

From tractors to strategically placed balls of wool, the photos offer a snapshot into life at Tree Tops and a glimpse into the lives of the people who stay there.

Victoria, who is proud to step up to the page of Miss January, added: “Although I was apprehensive at first to get involved I thought what the heck, if it raises awareness and money for the charity I’m sure that a few hours of having to bare all is nothing in the grand scheme of things.”

The idea came from Rachel Anchors and Wendy Wild who soon persuaded their fellow caravanners to take the plunge.

All the pictures were taken by Andrew Walker, who runs the park.

Rachel, 46, said: “We’ve bared all during this process – physically and metaphorically, wobbly bits and all.

“Stripping off isn’t always comfortable but we found a way of doing it that worked for us and Andy was great at making us feel at ease and took endless test shots, so we were happy and comfortable.

“We’ve all had personal reasons for wanting to be part of this and, as friends, we’ve also been able to share our stories, learn more about each other and have fun along the way.

“It’s made us closer but, more importantly, it’s about raising funds for Breast Cancer Care.”

Calendars are £6.50 each plus post and packaging.
