Bents Garden & Home has teamed up with Mortons Dairies to host a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday.

Every year, the garden and home centre on Warrington Road, Glazebury, takes part in the national event and is joined by customers and colleagues who help raise money for Macmillan.

So far, the business has raised nearly £40,000 since it began supporting the initiative.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday September 28 is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer.

Last year it raised more than £27 million.

Colleagues from Bents teamed up to promote the event with Mortons Dairies, the region’s largest dairy, which was on hand to donate a mountain bike for a reverse auction being held on the day in aid of the charity.

Matthew Bent, managing director of Bents, said: “Our coffee morning gets more popular every year and we enjoy working with our colleagues and key suppliers to make it a fun morning for our visitors who are fantastic supporters of this initiative.

“Macmillan does incredible work in our local community and it provides valuable support to help from the moment of a cancer diagnosis so that people can live a life as fully as they can.

"We are grateful of the support from Mortons Dairies and all our other suppliers as we raise funds for this important charity.”

Julian Harrison, managing director of Mortons Dairies, said: “We are pleased to once again lend our support to Bents and Macmillan for this incredible fundraiser.

"Many of our staff and their families have been directly supported by Macmillan and it is a charity very close to our hearts.”
