A COMMUNITY group with a six-figure budget is looking for a new leader to guide the next phase of their project.

Rudheath and Witton Together (RWT) partnership was awarded £1 million of Lottery funding in 2013 as part of a 10-year programme to help make the area a better place to live.

Now at the halfway point, they’re looking for someone with a real passion for community to help bring to life an exciting new action plan.

Fiona Cowley, project manager for RWT said: “Over the past five years, RWT has managed a wide range of community projects and activities.

"We have set up groups for older people and young people, run community arts and employment programmes, given out grants and loans, and lots more.”

“The chairman's role could offer valuable leadership and management experience to local professionals, through the supervision of a live project with a broad range of targets and objectives, plus responsibility for a large budget and direction of a staff team.”

“Although the position is voluntary our funders, Local Trust, offer a very strong package of training and support, with all expenses covered.”

RWT also has a vacancy for a vice-chairman.

The closing date for both roles is October 14.
