OFFICERS from Northwich CID are appealing for information from the public following reports of an altercation in the Hartford area.

At around 4.40pm on Tuesday, September 18, police were called to a report of an incident involving two motorists.

The caller reported that he had been involved in an altercation with the driver of a silver car as he drove his red VW Scirocco along Littledales Lane, Hodge Lane and Gorstage Lane between Hartford and Weaverham.

DC Chris Palmer from Northwich CID said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we are currently trying to establish the exact circumstances of what has taken place.

“As part of my investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was driving on Littledales Lane, Hodge Lane or Gorstage Lane between 4pm and 4.40pm on Tuesday, September 18 and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.

“I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have any dashcam footage of the roads between those times.

A 20-year-old man from Weaverham has been arrested as part of the investigation. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
