THE roof of a bus was ripped off after crashing into a bridge in Runcorn.
Police were called to Palacefield Avenue at 12.55pm today, Tuesday, following reports of a collision involving a bus and a bridge.
The top of the double decker bus had been detached from the vehicle when it collided with the bridge.
The driver and one passenger, who was downstairs, were uninjured.
Police say the bridge was checked over by Halton Borough Council engineers who deemed that it was safe.
