PETE Waterman is to give a talk about his Hit Man and Her and Stock Aitken Waterman days next month.

The show called An Evening with Pete Waterman – The Hit Maker promises ‘never before heard stories behind some of the greatest songs and artists of the 80s and 90s’ at The Brindley in Runcorn on Wednesday, October 17. Following on from his sell out Royal Festival Hall ‘A Life in Song’ concert, the music mogul will talk about his part in creating more than 100 top 40 UK hits.

In that time he was responsible for a staggering 500 million record sales around the world.

Among those who performed for Stock Aitken Waterman was Newton 80s icon Rick Astley.

Pete also worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Donna Summer, Jason Donovan, Bananarama, Steps and many more.

On the screen the Whitley resident was well known in the late 80s and early 90s for the dance music programme, The Hit Man and Her, which he hosted with Michaela Strachan.

The cult show was filmed in various nightclubs. Among the regulars on The Hit Man and Her were Take That’s Jason Orange and Simon ‘Spike’ Dawbarn and Jimmy Constable who went on to form 911.

Pete will also talk about his love of railways and his involvement in the great British railway.
