A VAN driver was left shaken after a dispute erupted in Runcorn.

Police are investigating the altercation involving the drivers of two vehicles – a silver Vauxhall Vivaro Combi van and a vintage black Jaguar car - on September 21 at 1.25pm.

Police say both drivers had both exited the M56 and pulled over onto the hard shoulder of the Weston Point expressway westbound, just prior to the slip road leading to Cow Hey Lane and Rocksavage power plant.

The driver of the van – a 52-year-old man from Runcorn – sustained a minor injury in the incident.

He went to hospital but he has since been discharged.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and detectives are keen to speak to the other driver – who is described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s and was wearing a baseball cap and a grey top – and the woman who was in the car with him.

Police also want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or believes they may have dashcam footage.

DC Dan Williams said: “The incident has left the driver of the van extremely shaken up.

“Enquires are ongoing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help us establish exactly what happened."
