A GROUP of 75 runners from Runcorn took over the streets of Warrington during the English Half Marathon.

Dressed in yellow, the team from Run Sandymoor took a huge number of runners to the popular event which took place on Sunday, September 16.

The community group was created to bring people together to run and have fun.

Fast, slow or somewhere in between, all are welcome (regardless of where you may live.).

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the English Half Marathon which starts and finishes in Warrington town centre.

More than 7,000 people from four continents took part in the race.

TBut now the event has grown to such an extent that it runs across three days and includes the GS Active Lifestyle Expo, pasta party, EHM Night 5k through Victoria Park and the EHM10K and classic half marathon on the Sunday.

Race director Rob Griffiths said “Ten years of the English Half Marathon in Warrington and based on the feedback so far, I must say that this one has been the best.

“The runners crossed the spectacular Golden Gates and raved about our army of volunteers and the very loud and supportive Warrington residents who gave them that extra bit of energy to get them to the finish line.”
