FIRE crews were called to Halton Hospital last night after overheated plant equipment caused smoke.
At around 10.20pm firefighters were called to reports of a smoke alarm sounding at an external boiler house at Halton Hospital on Hospital Way, Runcorn.
On arrival the crew discovered the smoke caused by overheated plant equipment.
The boiler house was remotely isolated and hospital site staff arranged for an electrician to attend.
Firefighters used a large high pressure fan to clear the smoke and were in attendance for nearly an hour-and-a-half.
