THE body of a 14-year-old girl from Widnes was recovered from a pond yesterday, Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Clincton Wood on Saturday evening after reports of concern for the safety of a teenager who had fallen into a pond.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "At 5.47pm on Saturday, August 4, we received a report of concern for safety of a teenager who had fallen in a pond in Clincton Woods.
"Officers attended with emergency services and tried to find the 14-year-old girl. A body was found in the water."
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the girl's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The girl has been named locally as Teya Davies and a Justgiving page has been set up to support her family.
