A CELEBRATION of Edgar Allan Poe will be held at the Brindley next month.

The 'master of macabre' Poe is widely credited as being the inventor of the detective fiction genre.

And a Pandemonium of Poe will celebrate the author's life on Saturday, September 22.

An original theatrical anthology of his finest works, the show is presented by the award-winning Don't Go Into the Cellar Theatre Company.

Scriptwriter Jonathan Goodwin stars in the play alongside Phil Jennings, with the show directed by Gary Archer.

Tickets are priced at £12 and £10, and are available at thebrindley.org.uk or by calling 0151 907 8360.
