A SPECIAL tea party has taken place at Chapelford Village Primary School to celebrate the achievements of a young gymnast.

Anjali Khashu was awarded the Pupil of the Year accolade at this year's Warrington Guardian Schools Awards.

The talented eight-year-old is currently on the British Elite Performance Pathway where she trains for more than 20 hours every week with Warrington Gymnastics Club, and has picked up a host of trophies over the past 12 months.

Chapelford head teacher Joanne Hewson organised a tea party for Anjali's class to help celebrate her success.
