A BOY was threatened at knifepoint in a row over a bike.

Detectives say the victim was intimidated by a gang of youths aged between 15 and 17 on a footpath leading from Hough Green Station in Widnes.

Police say the youths were involved in an argument over a bike.

One of the gang described as white with dark hair and wearing black tracksuit bottoms, produced a knife and held it to another boy's throat.

Another boy, who is descried as white with straight ginger shoulder length hair, also made threats to the victim.

The victim is described as white, with shoulder length brown hair, and was wearing a white t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.

The disturbance happened at around 9.30pm on Thursday, May 24.

Detective Constable Jordan Trentini said: “The victim of this incident has not come forward to police at this stage. We would urge him to get in touch so that we can establish the exact circumstances of what has happened.

"There were no reports of any injuries but clearly the victim will have been very shaken by his ordeal and we would encourage him to speak to us about it.

"I’d also urge anyone who was in the area at the time and has witnessed what happened – or has any information, which could help with our enquiries, to come forward."
