SOME residents in Runcorn have been hit with poor water pressure since yesterday evening (Thursday) due to a mains leak.

United Utilities say they have worked on the fault and isolated the leak on Murdishaw Avenue.

A statement issued shortly before midnight said: "Our engineers have rectified the technical fault on our water mains network and have now isolated the leak on Murdishaw Avenue.

"All customers should now have water, however you may experience poor pressure at peak demand in the morning (Friday).

"Our engineers will be back on site to carry out the repair the leak on Murdishaw Avenue tomorrow.

"We're sorry for the continued disruption and we'll try and get things back to normal as soon as we can."
