A JUNIOR football team in Runcorn is proud to sport a new look.

Home builder David Wilson Homes North West has sponsored Beechwood Barca under sevens with a new kit and new goals through their community initiative.

The Our Space Your Place scheme aims to support community projects and charities across the north west.

Manager Roy Gilfoyle said: "It's great that a company as big as David Wilson Homes takes an interest in the small communities they play a part in shaping.

"The kit helps the boys to really look the part and the new goals help us practice our shooting in training- it has really been paying off.

"The coaches and the boys are all grateful for the support.

“The boys have obviously been benefiting from their new goals as the team has scored over 100 goals this season!”

The under sevens are part of Beechwood JFC, a club which has FA Chartered Standard status and is one of the oldest junior football clubs in Runcorn, having existed for more than 30 years.

This is the first season for Beechwood Barca and the boys have been improving week by week whilst playing in the Warrington League.

The young players are encouraged by their coaches to develop their skills as well as being good representatives for the club.

Steve Jackson, sales director at David Wilson North West, said: “As a leading homebuilder we pride ourselves in being able to truly support the communities in and around our developments.

"We endeavour to get involved with local organisations and individuals as often as we can, to contribute to the great work which they do.

“It is a pleasure to be able to support a team like Beechwood Barca and we look forward to seeing how the team progresses this season.”
