EXCITEMENT is mounting as many companies across Runcorn and Widnes have entered the 10th Halton Business Awards.

A gala dinner is being held on June 22 at the Halton Stadium.

Innovation, commitment, dedication, energy and enthusiasm will be rewarded as firms of all sizes come together to celebrate their achievements.

Halton Chamber of Commerce hosts the event, supported by sponsors.

Chief executive Rachael Owen said: "I meet so many fabulous businesses across the borough.

"The awards is the ideal opportunity to shout about success and join together to celebrate. They provide a showcase for all the wonderful work undertaken and demonstrate a real commitment to excellence.

"We are delighted with the fantastic response but it's not too late to enter."

The awards are free to enter and open to all Halton based businesses that have been trading for at least six months.

Categories include marketing, customer service and exporting as well as independent retailing, manufacturing and ecology.

These are in addition to the prestigious Entrepreneur, Young Achiever/Apprentice, New Business of hte Year awards and the highly coveted Halton Business of the Year.
