TWO people have been charged in Runcorn on suspicion of burglary.

A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Dublin, are being held in police custody following a break-in in the early hours of this morning in Frodsham.

The pair were arrested in the Beechwood area of Runcorn.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At approximately 2.50am on Monday, March 12, officers were called to reports of a car and key burglary at an address off Bates Lane, Frodsham.

"Officers attended the scene and the vehicle was later found abandoned near the Weston Point Expressway in Runcorn.

"Following a search of the local area officers arrested two people on suspicion of burglary."

The suspects are helping officer with their enquiries.

Runcorn police are asking anyone in the Beechwood area of Runcorn who has CCTV of anything suspicious to call Cheshire Police on 101.

Police have now charged two people in relation to a number of vehicle thefts and burglaries in the Frodsham and Runcorn area.

Patrick Dowling, 32, and Lyndsey Bond, 28, were both arrested in Runcorn in the early hours of Monday 12 March following reports of a car and key burglary in Frodsham.

Bond, of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled Class B drugs (Cannabis).

Dowling, of no fixed abode, was charged with two counts of burglary with intent to steal, two counts of burglary and theft, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to comply with a red traffic signal.

Both of the defendants have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at North Cheshire Magistrates’ later today, Tuesday 13 March.
