A NEW lottery has been launched to help people who look after loved ones.

Halton Carers Centre currently supports more than 4,500 unpaid carers, of whom 600 are young carers who care for someone with an illness, disability, mental or physical health problem or a substance abuse problem.

Many carers face issues including isolation, low confidence and poor health due to their caring role.

The centre on Church Street, Runcorn, provides a range of services including one to one support, information and advice, holistic therapy and podiatry treatments, breaks and training.

Halton Carers Centre manager Carl Harris said: “We have introduced our Carers’ Lottery to raise much needed funds, which will help us to continue supporting carers in Halton.”

All profits from the lottery will go to Halton Carers Centre which is a registered charity.

Anyone over 16 can join the lottery which will be drawn on the 20th of the month.

The more people who enter, the more funds will be raised and the bigger the prize will be.

Winners will be notified by post or email and a list will be published on the centre’s website.
