A MAN was attacked at knifepoint by three robbers who then stole his car.

The victim had parked his car on Halton Brook Avenue in Runcorn and was walking home when he saw three men coming over a footbridge from Halton Lodge.

As he returned to his car after calling at his house, he felt an arm around his neck and he was pulled on to the grass.

One man pinned him down while the others grabbed his wallet, mobile phone and car keys.

One of the men shouted: “Give me the keys, give me the keys” while brandishing a knife.

The men then made off with the victim’s car in an unknown direction and it was later found abandoned.

The robbery happened between 1.55pm and 2.05pm on Tuesday, February 27.

All three men are described as wearing dark tracksuits and aged between 16 and 18-years-old.

One man was around 5ft 7ins tall, with a thin and gaunt face and wearing a dark coloured hat.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Detective Constable Nathanial Walkowiak, of Runcorn CID, said: “This was an unprovoked and nasty attack on a man who was simply going about his daily business.

“It’s important we trace these three men and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time or may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to come forward and call 101.”
