STAFF from a Runcorn pub restaurant have visited nurses, paramedics, firefighters, police, carers and doctors to thank them for their dedication.

A team from Evenwood Farm on Manor Park delivered home baked cakes to ambulance crews, staff and volunteers at Halton Haven Hospice, Runcorn Fire Station and Cheshire Custody Suite.

They also visited Halton Hospital, the Brooker Centre, the accident and emergency department and wards at Warrington Hospital.

Assistant manager Michael Knowles said: “The reason for doing this is that we wanted to give something back to the community.

“We started a poll on Facebook letting the public decide some of the sites that we were going to visit.”

The business, owned and operated by Greene King Plc, is the largest pub retailer and brewer with more than 3,100 restaurants, pubs and hotels.

The restaurant employs 65 staff and is part of the Farmhouse Inn Brand and celebrates its 11th birthday in Runcorn next month.
