PLUS Dane Housing has been shortlisted for three leading industry awards in recognition of how it engages and communicates with tenants.

The housing association, which has more than 13,500 homes across Halton, Merseyside and Cheshire, has been shortlisted for the North Region Tpas awards.

Plus Dane’s engagement strategy has been shortlisted for the Excellence in Tenant Engagement Award.

Kate Jungnitz, director of customer services at Plus Dane, said: “It is fantastic news that Plus Dane has been shortlisted in three categories for the North Region Tpas awards.

"Our engagement strategy is at the heart of the work we do in our communities. It is wonderful to see this new approach recognised.

“The strategy has included the formation of an independent tenants’ scrutiny panel and a new initiative, Plus Dane Voices, that has seen more than 800 tenants and customers sign up to offer feedback on services in a way that suits them.

"We are already implementing positive changes based on this work, and listening to the opinions of the people who use our services.”

The organisation’s ‘Making a Difference’ annual report is named among the best of its kind in the ‘Excellence in Annual Reports’ category; whilst GiveGetGo, a collaborative pre-employment training course run by Transform Lives in partnership with Plus Dane, is nominated for the Excellence in Employment Skills and Training Award.

The course runs four times a year and Plus Dane tenants are among the attendees.

Madeleine Nelson, executive director of neighbourhoods at Plus Dane Housing, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised in the North Region Tpas Awards for our tenant involvement in the GiveGetGo initiative.

"We have seen such wonderful results through this partnership, including helping our tenants overcome their personal barriers to be able return to employment after long periods out of the workplace.”

Now in its 11th year, the Tpas Awards seeks to recognise and reward the ‘unsung heroes’ in our communities for their contribution to driving up standards in social housing.

The awards ceremony will take place on March 16 at the Hilton Deansgate Manchester Hotel.
