VOTERS in Runcorn will be going to the polls next month following the death of one of Halton’s longest serving councillors.
Cllr Arthur Cole, 82, died in November last year, after serving the community for 40 years.
Nominations closed today.
Three candidates will be contesting an election in the Halton Castle ward on Thursday, February 15.
Ian Adams, of The Glen, Palacefields, is standing for the Conservatives, Christopher Carlin, of Tildsley Crescent, represents Labour and Darrin Whyte, of Cornwall Close, Castlefields is running as an independent.
Voters are reminded to make sure they are registered before January 30.
The polls will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday, February 15.
