HALTON’S largest information and advice charity is looking for new volunteers to join its advice team.

Citizens Advice Halton hopes to expand its service and help even more people.

Chief executive Hitesh Patel said: “Last year, thanks to our team of fabulous volunteers, we helped over 6,000 local people with problems find a way forward but we know there are still many more that need our support.

“People shouldn’t be put off from volunteering at Citizens Advice. No prior experience is needed because all our volunteers get a full package of training and on-going support.”

Casework support worker Kerry Forsyth added: “We are a great team to volunteer with because every time you come in you know you will be making a real difference to someone’s lives.

“We like to have fun too and you’re guaranteed to make lots of new friends.

“At our recent Christmas party quiz we had a great laugh and we raised £100 for Save the Children and we have more social activities planned for 2018.”

Citizens Advice Halton is looking for volunteers to become advisers, receptionists and community money mentors.

Anyone interested should call 0151 257 2449 or e-mail advice@haltoncab.org.uk and ask for a volunteer information pack.
