CUSTOMERS at Notcutts Garden Centre Rivendell in Widnes have raised nearly £400 for Sue Ryder from the sale of plastic carrier bags.
The charity provides hospice and neurological care for people facing a life-changing diagnosis.
Notcutts Rivendell Centre manager David Quigley said: “Sue Ryder is a fantastic charity which does incredible work to help people in very difficult circumstances.
“It is great to see all the pennies from plastic bag purchases adding up and then being used to support such an incredible cause.”
Gill Parker, manager of the Sue Ryder charity shop in St Helens, said: “A big thank you to all the customers for this very kind and generous donation.
“Every contribution gives someone the expert medical, practical or emotional support they need and it is greatly appreciated.”
