A CHRISTMAS carol concert is being organised by a big-hearted Widnes schoolboy.

Aidan Jackson recently distributed sleeping bags, warm clothes, coats and toiletries to the homeless in Liverpool.

Through an appeal, he collected more than 50 sleeping bags and spent two nights handing out the donations and talking to rough sleepers.

The 15-year-old is inviting people to his home at 68 Francis Close, Ditton, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday, December 19.

The Ormiston Chadwick Academy student hopes to boost the £17,000 he has raised so far for the Olivia Alice Foundation which helps disabled children and their families.

Any money raised on the night will be donated to this charity.

Singers from Victoria Music and princesses will entertain guests.

People will be able to remember family and friends by putting their names on a tree of memories.

Father Christmas will be making a special guest appearance.

Mince pies, mulled wine, hot chocolate and hot dogs will be available.

Deputy mayor and mayoress Cllrs John and Marjorie Bradshaw and other special guests have been invited.

A similar event last year attracted more than 100 people.
