THE bus service in West Bank is getting worse.

I wrote to the World about problems we were having a few weeks ago, hoping things would get better, but the situation has now deteriorated.

Since the Silver Jubilee closed we can no longer use all the buses which used to cross the bridge.

Instead we now have only one bus, the 14c Halton Transport service, which is supposed to run every 15 minutes.

Every morning I wait with a group of people on our way to work for the 7.11am bus.

Almost 90 per cent of the time it is late.

Last Thursday it did not turn up at all and the next one due at 7.26am was five minutes late.

That might not sound bad, but for some passengers like me it means we miss our connections at Green Oaks and are late for work.

Some people are travelling on to Liverpool and Warrington.

Being constantly late could cost someone their job.

I cannot understand how this bus can be late first thing in the morning as there are no longer any Mersey Gateway roadworks on Victoria Road to cause delays.

Being forced to wait in the freezing cold is not good enough.

There are a lot of elderly people and families without cars who rely on the bus.
