I HAVE just found out that drivers of camper vans will be charged a shocking £6 each way to use the new Mersey Gateway.
This could well cause a significant reduction in the number of visitors to the tourist attractions on both sides of the river.
It could have a dramatic impact on both the Catalyst and Norton Priory museums if it costs camper van visitors to our area another £12 to visit them.
Not only that, local owners of camper vans will not be able to get the Halton resident’s pass for their vehicles.
This seems an unjustified discrimination against owners of small camper vans as equivalent size ordinary vans are only charged £2 and can get a resident’s pass to give them free crossings
