A TALENTED teenager from Widnes is now a four-time world champion after competing in the Dance World Cup.

Thirteen-year-old Harrison Vaughan, who trains at Jelli Studios in Liverpool, entered the competition for the first time in Germany.

The tournament started on June 24, bringing together dancers from 49 different countries.

Harrison, of Upton Grange, was up against 4,000 candidates in the world cup but he danced his way to the top of the leader board, bringing home four gold medals, three silver and one bronze.

Harrison’s mum Cheryl Vaughan, 44, said: “I went to support Harrison in Germany along with my sister and partner – we’re all so proud of him.

“He’s only been dancing for the past few years since turning nine.

"He didn’t start competing in serious competitions until just over a year ago.”

Team England also won the Dance World Cup at the championships in Germany.

Staci Lucas, 25, Harrison’s auntie added: “Harrison has got lots of exciting things coming up including a few big competitions in the next few weeks down in London.

“Harrison will also be competing in the British Championships in Blackpool which runs from Saturday, July 29, to Friday, August 4, and is hosted by Theatre Dance Council International.”
