AN EIGHT-year-old schoolgirl took to the stage to dance with popstar Justin Bieber in front of more than 40,000 people.

Lexy Dawbarn’s video of her street dance skills caught the eye of the organisers of Bieber’s Purpose world tour and the Daresbury Primary School pupil was invited to perform at his show at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Friday.

Mum Tanya and her family travelled to the event early, where Lexy spent a few hours with a choreographer before the show learning the dance moves to Bieber’s hit song Children.

The mum-of-three said it was an ‘amazing’ experience.

She added: “Lexy loved every minute she was dancing on the stage with Justin.

“The whole team involved in selecting and looking after the kids were just amazing and kept the children relaxed and at ease within their surroundings and during their performance.

“Lexy is always excited when she is performing, but this experience has made her day, month and year all in one night. We definitely have a house full of Justin Bieber super fans now.”

After the performance the star thanked Lexy on stage, telling her she was ‘really good’ and asked the audience to give her a round of applause before he hugged her.

The youngster has already featured in the video for Lady Leshurr’s track Juice, which has been viewed almost 2 million times.

And she practices every day at Stage Pro, where she has been dancing since the age of three.

Tanya added: “People just seem to be taking notice of her, she’s gone up a level. I’m exhausted, I think she needs a PA now.

“I have got three girls and they are all Justin Bieber fans. My husband wasn’t happy he had to sit through a Bieber show but we were all excited to see Lexy on stage.

“What’s not to like about Justin Bieber? Lexy loves him, especially his new stuff because it’s a bit more her sort of music.”

And for Lexy, whose uncle is Spike Dawbarn from boyband 911, dancing clearly runs in the family.

“I know her Uncle Si will be proud,” said Tanya.

“I think dancing is what she wants to do when she’s older. She is really committed and just enjoys it. It’s definitely in her blood, my husband Mike’s mum was a dancer too.”
